Abstract

Cooling towers are a key component in central AC systems that support air conditioning in airport terminals. The current process of checking cooling tower performance is still manual and inefficient. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system that monitors fan speed and basin water temperature in real-time from a remote location. The research method used is Research and Development (RnD), involving the design and implementation of the IoT system. Based on observations and interviews with the mechanical maintenance team, it was found that monitoring is still manual. The study results show that real-time monitoring allows technicians to take immediate action if there is a decline in cooling tower performance. In conclusion, the IoT-based monitoring system can maintain cooling tower performance, ensuring terminal temperatures are controlled and passengers remain comfortable
